OZ-KBA-6501: Problems with Constant Requests to Login

This KB will explain:

•    How to stop Internet Explorer from Constantly asking you to Login when using Sharepoint

Article

Steps to Prevent being asked to Login

1.    Open Internet Explorer and browse to your Sharepoint Site
2.    Login with your Username and Password
3.    Once the site has loaded look to the bottom right of the browser window for the item circled in red and double click this icon

4.    The Internet Options window will open and you need to navigate to Local Intranet and then Click “Sites”

5.    You should then see a screen that looks like the one below. The settings should be the same – to continue, click on the  “Advanced” button

6.    The screen below allows you to add your SharePoint site to the Local intranet zone. Type the full URL for your Sharepoint Site in to the appropriate location and click on the Add button

7.    Once the site is listed under “Websites” as shown below, click the “Close” button to commit the changes

8.    Click on OK on the two remaining screens until you get back to the Internet Explorer window
9.    Once you load the SharePoint site in Internet Explorer, you should now see the security status change to Local Intranet (as shown below). With this setting in place, once you have logged in to the site once, you won’t be prompted for a password again.
