What is an SMTP Server?
Simple Mail Transfer Protocol is a method of sending email to other email servers. You need to define an SMTP server in your email client so that when you click Send the email actually goes somewhere.
Why would I want to use OzHosting.com’s SMTP server instead of my ISP’s?
Most ISPs only allow access to their SMTP servers from their own networks. For Desktop PCs this is no issue but if you use a Laptop or Mobile device you may find that you cannot send email from certain network connections. Using OzHosting.com’s SMTP server removes this restriction as you should be able to use our SMTP from any network connection.
Why would I have to use my ISP’s SMTP server instead of OzHosting.com’s?
Some ISPs require you to use their SMTP servers as they may process certain Spam and Anti-Virus filtering on any email sent using their network.
